Celebrity Rihanna shocked the makeup world dropping her makeup line Fenty Beauty, on September 8, 2017. As Fenty sold out in every local Sephora in the U.S., every beauty guru, teenager, and makeup artist was eager to get their hands on her Fenty products. 

     Unlike many other makeup companies, in Rihanna’s first release she dropped her soft matte long wear foundation in forty-one shades. “I created this makeup line for women of all skin colors, religion, and age,” she stated on her Fenty Beauty site interview.

     She also released magnetic match stix that come with contour, highlight, and conceal shades for any skin color. The Fenty website has charts for helping customers find the perfect shade for their foundation and match stix.

     In the makeup world today, everyone is obsessed with having the ultimate GLOW. Makeup companies are constantly competing with each other to come up with the perfect formula to make a long lasting, non chalky, smooth, highlighter. In her first release, Rihanna beat out all other makeup companies with her ten shades of blinding Killowat highlighters. The most popular one is her Trophy Wife Killowat highlighter. Trophy Wife is a beautiful, gold highlight that catches everyone’s eye while wearing it. The highlighters come with two shades in one, while compacted in a white, easy transferable case.

     I decided to try these Fenty products out myself. I went to Sephora in Dulles Mall and got samples of the foundation, primer, and also did some swatches of the Killowat Highlighters. After looking through the shade chart I found my shade 150. Unlike many makeup companies, Rihanna came out with forty foundation shades which is helpful while trying to find the best fitting shade for your skin. Also giving a mini travel size line of her brushes.

Rihanna definitely did not disappoint. I wore the Pro Filt’r this past week, through advanced PE and volleyball practice, and the foundation did not move. The foundation definitely oxidizes after a couple of seconds after applying. The finished feel of it is outstanding, it is a total weight-less feel to the point of feeling as if you don’t even have makeup on. With a beautiful airbrushed look walking through the halls, I noticed people complimenting my makeup and on how smooth it looked. The foundation lasted all day and I also noticed that my other makeup products just guided on a lot smoother than usual. I would definitely encourage people to sample her foundation if you are looking for a beautiful airbrushed look.

     This past Friday Rihanna dropped her galaxy collection, including her very first eyeshadow palette with twelve glitter shadows. Along with her galaxy collection she gave us four new lipsticks, three glitter eyeliners, and four cosmic glosses.
