As they start their 2nd year as a program, Patriot Productions opens with a captivating rendition of The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition, directed by Mary Rose Lunde, Park View’s theatre director. Set against the backdrop of an old-timey mansion filled with many ominous secrets, an astonishing cast of characters find themselves stuck in a mystery about their beloved Charles Haversham. The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition runs from November 9 through November 11, 2023, with their Cappies performance on November 10 at 7PM.
It’s opening night of the Cornley Drama Society’s production of the 1920s whodunit, The Murder at Haversham Manor. Excitedly, the director, Chris, welcomes the audience while the company is frantically making last minute changes to the set. They don’t have time to finish, but the play must go on! However, this is just the beginning of the chaos. As they continue through the performance, the cast and crew begin to struggle, as they forget lines, drop props, have walls crashing down, and more. But I mean.. that’s the worst that can happen… right?
Director Mary Rose Lunde and Tech Director Cora Runholt transform our precious stage into the Haversham Manor, where the story’s beloved characters explore the chaos and mysteries that lie within the walls. “This play has reminded us that when things go wrong, we need to keep going,” said Director Lunde.
